Planning Your Hills District Wedding at Springfield House

The answers to the questions every couple asks when they first visit us.

Our reception spaces hold up to 180 seated guests, with our largest room comfortably hosting 150 for a sit-down dinner. Garden ceremonies can accommodate up to 200 guests. For more intimate weddings, we have spaces that feel perfectly proportioned for 60 to 80 guests.

Absolutely. Most of our couples choose to hold their ceremony in one of our garden settings, then move to the reception rooms. Your guests never need to drive between venues. We can also provide a wet-weather backup indoors so you never have to worry about the forecast.

Spring and autumn Saturdays typically book 12 to 18 months ahead. If you have a specific date in mind, we recommend enquiring as early as possible. That said, we sometimes have midweek or off-peak availability at shorter notice — it's always worth asking.

We have a private preparation suite for the wedding party to use throughout the day, plus a charming cottage on the grounds. For additional guest accommodation, we partner with several nearby hotels and can recommend options in the Hills District — just ask our planning team.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own florist, photographer, and entertainment. We also have a curated list of trusted suppliers who know the venue intimately and consistently deliver beautiful results. Catering is handled in-house by our experienced kitchen team.

Say I Do

Ceremony & Garden Spaces

Three distinct outdoor settings for your ceremony, each framed by the natural beauty of the Hills District.

The Garden Arbour

A vine-covered archway set within manicured gardens. Rows of white chairs stretch across the lawn under a canopy of established trees. Perfect for spring and summer ceremonies, with dappled light that photographers love.

The Fountain Courtyard

An intimate paved courtyard centred around a classic stone fountain. Surrounded by hedging and seasonal blooms, it seats up to 100 guests and feels like a secret garden. Beautiful year-round, and especially romantic at twilight.

The Grand Lawn

Our largest outdoor space, sweeping across the front of the estate with views of the surrounding countryside. Accommodates up to 200 guests with room for a marquee or open-air setup. The kind of space where you can really make it your own.

Celebrate

Reception Spaces

From candlelit dinners to lively dance floors, our reception rooms set the stage for the celebration you've been planning.

The Grand Ballroom

Our flagship reception space with soaring ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the room with natural light. Seats up to 150 for dinner with room for a dance floor and band. French doors open onto the terrace for seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

The Garden Room

A light-filled space overlooking the gardens, with elegant neutral tones that suit any palette. Seats up to 100 guests, with a more intimate feel that suits smaller weddings beautifully. Opens directly onto a private courtyard for canapés and drinks.

The Drawing Room

The original entertaining room of the house, with heritage fireplaces, polished timber floors, and a warm, club-like atmosphere. Perfect for cocktail-style receptions of up to 120 or intimate dinners for 60. A favourite for winter weddings.

The Terrace & Verandah

Covered outdoor entertaining areas that wrap around the house, giving your guests space to spill outside with a drink in hand. String lights overhead, views across the grounds, and the kind of easy atmosphere that makes an evening unforgettable.
